Adult Education

We seek to offer a wide range of adult education opportunities, including Bible study and discussions of other religions, sustainability, ethics and current issues, faith and science, and the history of the early church.  Bishop Erwin presentation

Sunday mornings: on the first Sunday of the month, following a single worship service (see the Calendar), a guest speaker presents a lecture and a discussion in the Fellowship Hall at 11 a.m., followed by lunch at noon.  Guest speakers during 2015-2016 have included professors from Westmont College, California Lutheran University, and Luther Theological Seminary.  During the rest of the month, a range of topics are discussed during education hours at 9:15 meetings in the Fireside Room in the administration building. Recent topics have included studies of the Old Testament prophets, faith and science, world religions, the use of sacred spaces in Christianity, sustainability and community gardening, chemicals and the environment, and, in the aftermath of a series of horrific shootings, race relations and white privilege.Caryn Reeder talk (1)
