ELCA World Hunger

For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me. – Matthew 25:35.

Your gifts to ELCA World Hunger will not only provide immediate relief to those who are hungry, but will also help connect people with the resources they need to produce food and gain access to clean water, education, health care and sources of income. This is the long-term, sustainable change needed to end hunger.

ELCA World hunger works in more than 50 countries around the world. The strength of this international work is in the relationship between the ELCA and its global companion churches and partners. These churches and organizations understand their local context best, and this means they can responsibly identify their communities’ greatest needs and the most appropriate responses. With ELCA World Hunger we walk together with global partners to develop strategies to reduce the impact of hunger and poverty.

God richly provides for daily bread — the earth can produce enough food for everyone. Yet, many of our sisters and brothers still go hungry. Please join with the children that attended our VBS this year to support the more than 800 million people — that’s 1 in 8 people in our world today — who are hungry.
