What happens at Trinity’s Garden Song Day Camp?

After gathering in the Garden in the morning, the campers head for the large fellowship hall for an opening of lively songs, skits and an introduction to the theme of the day.  Campers then move with their class DSC_0974of 8 to 10 students, their shepherd and the shepherd’s helper to one of the following rotations:

Garden –Plant and harvest food, learn and participate in composting, water conservation and sharing the bounties of the garden.

Story Time –Hear and explore stories related to hunger causes and hunger hopes.

Music – Play instruments, learn rhythm, sing songs.

Food & Crafts –Learn some food science, prepare snacks from the garden, and make theme-inspired crafts.

Recreation –Games, competition and fun.

We’ll take breaks for lunch (brought from home) and snacks (provided). At the end of the day we gather to share the day’s highlights and to sing more songs.   On the last day of camp the parents are invited to a closing program featuring a slide show and a performance of the music learned during the week.

On Sunday, July 1st, the campers will sing songs during our annual outdoor worship service and picnic at Trinity Gardens.  Worship time is 9:30 a.m.

Our goal at Trinity’s Garden Song Day Camp is for our campers to become passionate about loving God and caring for our neighbors and our environment.
